Nevada OK’s widow’s wish[*1] to place Wiccan symbol on slain soldier/husband’s tombstone:
Sgt. Patrick Stewart, 34, was killed in Afghanistan last Septemberwhen a rocket-propelled grenade struck his helicopter. Four others alsodied. Stewart was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and the PurpleHeart.
He was a follower of the Wiccan religion, which the U.S. Departmentof Veterans Affairs does not recognize and therefore prohibits onveterans’ headstones in national cemeteries.
I’ve got no problem with this. Stewart served honorably and deserves to be recognized with respect.
